On theNaNoWriMo: My Journey

I've attempted NaNoWriMo for years upon years. However, it wasn't until last year that I managed to "win" the effort of writing a 50,000-word novel in 30 days. Even so, the book requires more, not to mention editing. So, with the idea of starting a "new" book, I decided to take one of the supporting characters from the original book and write her story. I fear this may be a new trend.

But worry not! These stories will one day be published!

Doves Blood: First NaNo Win!

Doves Blood follows the character of Mariska on a journey both of self-discovery and a typical hero's journey. She is the only one who can save the world from a force that wishes to wipe out all of reality. However, she has a long way to go before she can manage what seems to be the impossible. The first Book is the introduction to the character and her hunt for the first of several items she must recover to help her defeat this menace.

Snippets of that and the world building around it can be found on my writer's Patreon. I hope to share some snippets in the future!

Strain: Second NaNo Win Attempt

This novel follows Tarra Gassner, a non-werewolf woman who was raised in a small town in the mountains of Pennsylvania, near the New Jersey border. She lived in a ghbor, a town that is nothing but werewolves and their relatives. This story isn't a hero's story per say, but a different format known as "Reenchantment". Her's is the story of Hope in the face of terrible odds.

A virus that specifically targets her kind must be stopped before it is too late. She must find herself, her place, protect her people, learn how to be a city-gal, all while being groomed to turn against them - and through it all, she holds two terrible secrets. What monsters really are, and how to kill them all.

Right now I am a little over 3/4 of the way there. I just need another 10-20k and the 50k will be achieved. However, the book is far from done. Thankfully, I met a NaNo'er in a Flight Rising group who is a med student! So this helps a lot by giving me someone to bounce ideas off on, and get some critical feedback!
